Scott was interviewed by his alma mater, the University of Wisconsin, about his work as a landscape architect in the 20-plus years since he graduated. Scott’s reflections about the practice of landscape architecture and how it has changed is worth a look, even for those who do not bleed Badger red. Scott remembers that twenty five years ago people might ask a landscape architect “do you get your name on the side of a truck?” (We wonder who exactly asked him that. Something to follow up on.) But things have changed.
“Today, the landscape architecture world can be much broader.” It can be much more at the macro level of addressing community-planning issues, and community engagement. Twenty years ago, that was not part of our role at all.”
Read all about it at On Wisconsin. And please do not ask Scott about his truck.
