The Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) in collaboration with DuPage County is developing a Multi-modal Mobility Plan. Transit providers and other community agencies understand the change in socioeconomic conditions and their constituents’ needs but lack the resources to sustain the needs of the community. In recognition of the need for regional coordination, DuPage County is seeking to develop its first county-wide Mobility Plan to provide a coordinated long-term vision for augmenting and supporting a more mobile population.

This plan will provide a strategy for future mobility initiatives in DuPage County by evaluating existing and potential new services and opportunities. The project will work to address four segments of mobility:

• Identify Mobility Gaps – Overcoming mobility barriers presented to disadvantaged communities.
• Mobility Information – Information consolidation and single resource strategy.
• Employer and Employee Partnerships – Utilizing “Invest in Transit” as a resource to build partnerships to complete the important first and last mile connections.
• Changing the Face of Suburbia – Forging alliances with and between DuPage County communities to strengthen mobility opportunities by utilizing Pace’s “Transit Supportive Guidelines” as a reference.
