Lincoln Avenue Corridor Plan

The Lakota Group developed the Lincoln Avenue Revitalization Strategy to guide improvements within this historic corridor in the heart of Lincoln Park. Given the significant changes occurring along Lincoln Avenue in the area, from the redevelopment of the former Children’s Memorial Hospital and the ELEVATE mixed-use project, to the construction of the new DePaul Music School, it was a critical time to reassess this corridor and plan for its future. Lakota completed an assessment of the existing physical, demographic, transportation, and market conditions as a baseline to forming the plan. Concepts and strategies were developed for physical enhancements and placemaking, transportation improvements, branding and marketing, and business attraction. The final plan outlines the vision for the future of Lincoln Avenue — an active, pedestrian-oriented commercial corridor that serves the needs of visitors and residents alike.
